Oklahoman’s with ID/DD featured in 2021 calendar; proceeds benefit The ARC of Oklahoma

Looking for a great stocking stuffer that not only will fill your heart with the holiday spirt but also benefit a great cause? Look no further than the 2021 “Achieve With Us” inaugural calendar from The Arc of Oklahoma. Each month features an Oklahoman with intellectual or developmental disabilities (ID/DD) and an achievement in their life from buying a home, to winning a national championship title, to simply finding a personal happy place.
The ARC of Oklahoma is now a state chapter of TARC (The ARC of the United States) which is the largest national community-based organization advocating for and with people with ID/DD. The Arc and its network of affiliates are dedicated to serving them and their families, across diagnoses, including Down syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy and other intellectual and developmental disabilities.
In 1952, TARC was established by parents of children with developmental disabilities because of their frustration with the lack of services available to their children. These founding families passionately advocated for services and supports and it is their passion that infuses the organization today. Since that beginning more than 60 years ago, TARC has worked to improve the lives of people with developmental disabilities such as intellectual disabilities, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and autism spectrum disorders. TARC remains as committed today to fostering the well-being, dignity, and rights of people with developmental disabilities and their families as did those pioneering parents who founded the organization in 1952.
